I am the proud owner of a 1998 Ford Escort nicknamed “The Bird.” I have a very special connection with this car—so much so that our timelines have often run strangely parallel. Whenever life's had its ups and downs, the car has had its ups and downs too.
2011 - 2014: I change career paths a couple times and end up feeling a little lost.
Jan. 2015: I start feeling more confident about advertising and copywriting, and start my Brandcenter application.
July 2015: I end up leaving my job and choosing go to Brandcenter. I’m scared and excited all at once.
Jan. 2016: Have a stereotypical mid-first year crisis at Brandcenter. Start questioning everything.
Aug. 2016: I come back to Brandcenter excited about what I learned in experiential and digital advertising at Sid Lee.
April 2017: My career at Brandcenter starts to come to a close.
2011 - 2014: I don’t own a car. I take the bus everywhere. It’s not great.
Jan. 2015: I buy the car. Now I can ride around town carefree with the windows down and my hair in the breeze.
July 2015: The Bird taps another car’s bumper at a stoplight. Neither car is damaged, but it’s still a little unnerving.
Jan. 2016: The car’s battery dies, then its alternator. It has to be towed for a few miles.
Aug. 2016: Receives an upgrade in the form of a Bluetooth adapter. Now a super digitally-savvy vehicle of the future.
April 2017: I give a sales pitch for class on all the features of my car, as I sadly have to sell it soon.
